Hi, I’m Dr. Sita Nadathur, a bilingual clinical psychologist and founder of Compass Psychological. I work with adults navigating anxiety, burnout, grief, trauma, and significant life transitions. Many of the people I work with are thoughtful and capable, accustomed to managing life’s demands, yet may find themselves feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, uncertain, or stuck.

I believe therapy can be a space to slow down, make sense of what you are experiencing, and develop a deeper understanding of yourself. My role is not to tell you who you should be or what path you should take, but to offer thoughtful guidance as you explore what matters to you and where you want to go. I believe every person has the capacity for growth and healing, and I value creating a therapeutic relationship grounded in trust, curiosity, and collaboration.

My approach is collaborative and process-oriented. I integrate evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, trauma-informed care, and process-oriented techniques, while remaining responsive to your individual needs and goals. I also bring cultural and social justice perspectives into my work, recognizing that our identities, relationships, communities, and lived experiences shape how we understand ourselves and the world around us.

I have a particular interest in multicultural care, grief counseling, and resilience building, as well as providing support that is culturally and linguistically meaningful. I earned my undergraduate degrees in psychology and music performance from Inter American University of Puerto Rico and completed my doctorate in clinical psychology at the University of Hartford. My background in both psychology and music has shaped the way I think about people and the therapeutic process. Music taught me to listen closely, notice nuance, and appreciate the many ways people express what can be difficult to put into words. These perspectives continue to inform my curiosity, creativity, and presence in the therapy room. Over the years, I have had the privilege of working in a variety of clinical settings with individuals facing a wide range of challenges and concerns.

I value transparency and authenticity in the therapeutic relationship. We regularly check in about how our work is feeling and whether our approach continues to fit your needs. My hope is that therapy becomes a space where you feel understood, develop greater self-awareness and resilience, and gain clarity about the life you want to create.

Outside of work, I love creativity, music, and the arts. When I’m not working or spending time with my family, you can usually find me traveling, sipping tea, or curled up on my deck with a good book.
